1. Where are you located?

I am a mobile notary, I will come to you. Please call or email strictlynotaryservices@gmail.com to set up an appointment. Also, please be aware that I do work for other companies and may not be able to get to you right away. It is extremely important to make an appointment either via phone call, or email, (please give me at least 48 hours to get your email request).

2. How much do you charge?

There are new or increased fees that notaries public across the state can charge now. The maximum fee that can be charged per principal signature is now $10 for acknowledgments, jurats, and verifications or proofs. For oaths or affirmations without a signature, the maximum fee is now $10 per person, except for the identity of a principal or subscribing witness. The fee for electronic notarizations under G.S. 10B-188 is $15.

For any notarial act under 10B, actual mileage at the federal mileage rate can be charged if the travel reimbursement is agreed to by the principal in writing prior to travel. (The State of NC uses the federal mileage rate of 62.5 cents per mile.)

The new Remote Electronic Notarization fee will be $25 per principal signature when REN becomes effective.

3. What type of payments do you accept?

Payment may be with cash or money order.

I can also accept credit card payments via Square payment, Apple Pay, or Zelle.
No check from individuals will be accepted only the companies that I am register with may pay by check via verification.

4. Can I get a document notarized if I do not have proper identification?

No. In North Carolina you must have one of the following documents before a notary can notarize your document:

The following are acceptable IDs in North Carolina:

An identification card or driver's license that the North Carolina Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has issued.
US passport issued by the United States State Department.
Foreign passport if duly stamped by the USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration)

5. Can a notary accept an expired ID in North Carolina?

No. A notary may not use an expired driver's license to establish the identity of a signer to provide notary services. The state-issued driver's license must be current and contain a photograph and signature of the signer.

6. Can a notary accept an expired Passport in North Carolina?

No. A notary may not use an expired passport to establish the identity of a signer to provide notary services. The federally issued passport must be current and contain a photograph and signature of the signer.
